bill traylor
bill traylor is my favorite folk/outsider artist. born into slavery and unable to read or write, he started making art at the age of 83. he slept on the floor in the back of a funeral parlor and spent his days on the street in downtown montgomery, alabama. once he started making his art, he did so full time, all day every day. it just came pouring out.

Now if that isn't inspirational I don't know what is.
That's amazing. As if he'd been saving it up until it just had to spill out and take over his life. It's an inspiration to anyone who (like me) sometimes despairs of ever having anything to say.
To hear a story like this enriches ones life beyond words......
so cool! i can't wait to read more about him...
I live near the American Visionary Art Museum in Baltimore and it's full of artists and art like that! Inspirational.
