david wiseman
david wiseman does amazingly beautiful work. his installation at the cooper hewitt museum design life now is an explosion of cherry blossoms on view till july 29. the photos above are from a house in hancock park. i love the irresistible (i find bronze extremely irresistible) bronze vessel. the deer (i find deer moderately irresistible) with box is so curious i might need it. david wiseman is a graduate of the rhode island school of design. more on risd below.
for the past 5 years, rhode island school of design was always 2 hours and 15 minutes away. if i drove and it wasn't snowing and the force was with me, risd was 2 hours and 15 minutes away. if i took the bus from concord to boston south station and took the train to rhode island, it took 2 hours and 15 minutes. it was too far. now risd is 17 hours and 17 minutes away. that's right. it's not even funny.

The chandelier are bronze vessel are so fantastic, I can stand it!!!
So glad you shared this. I missed it. Love the cherry blossom!!
The relief on the ceiling is incredible!!! Is the rest of that house as beautiful as that?
Incredible ceiling art!
Can you tell I had not had my morning coffee when I posted...full of typos!
i have not seen the rest of this house but it must be superfine if they bothered to commission that ceiling! it is a bungalow and in LA area- that;s all i know. probably craftsman. i can't imagine having the resources to do something so fabulous. once we redo bathrooms and kitchens and move walls and add windows we are out of money! we never get to the super fabulous part! some day......
all the best, i can't even type with my coffee! that is why i never use capitals!
so sweet of you all to say such nice things! the house is a 20's Georgian in hancock park. the whole house will be really great when its done. The decorator, Rodman Primack, has a really unique, eclectic style. there are a bunch of new and very different projects to be posted soon...
-david.
oh p.s. as for the "predicts it will hurt..." quote, very embarassed, don't remember saying that. that was a goal, not a prediction.
the blog looks beautiful! just added to my fav's.
