marcel wolterinck

i am so happy to have this article from the current shelter on marcel wolterinck, a self taught designer from the netherlands. first of all, i love a thatched roof. granted, i have never lived with one and know nothing of it's practicality, but i sure love to look at it. i have one photo where the ridgeline of a thatched house has been embroidered with a contrasting grass, but that is for another day. right now i am sharing some love for marcel, who started his carrer as a floral arranger, opened a flower shop with his wife and quickly became sought the world over for floral arrangements, landscape design, room makeovers and full on design projects. He now does all of this as well as design products from art to furniture to textiles. i love it and i want to roll around in it.
