pasquale amodio * randa hanna

i could move right in to this early victorian house designed by architects pasquale amodio and randa hanna. it reminds me of my house in new hampshire, except for the fabulous furniture! we achieved similar effects with maple bookcases and a couple of walls covered in sheets of maple plywood. it is relatively inexpensive if you can do it yourself and the iron on veneer tape, available at most hardware stores, gives a nice finished look on flush door or drawer edges. we engineered some sturdy, long shelving if anyone is interested in shelf diy. i will be happy to post our shelf scenario. we did not, on the other hand, have this fabulous glass balcony and patio allowing light into our basement! love it! and please take a look at the perfect danish leather chairs pasquale inherited from his grandfather. the photographs above are opposite sides of the same room.

I love the marble table against the backdrop of the roaring fireplace. How lucky to have inherited such great chairs.

i love that table too! she is related to my girl that waits for me! i think the chairs are extra fabulous be cause they are normal, not of extreme provenance but equally as beautiful as those that are. maybe that is just sour grapes because i can't afford a chair of provenance!!
and michelle, i have a great article on a house that is half underground with these huge skylights right in the grass! i'll post it when i find it. thanks for visiting!

I cannot stop looking at that balcony. I thought it was some sort of odd swimming pool cover that could be safely walked on. I don't suppose I will ever have one, but it will definitely go into the inspiration folder I keep meaning to make!
