roman countryside restoration by piero pinto for fashion designer laura biagiotti circa 1977. super fabulous just never goes out of style. the drop-dead gorgeous photo above is an internal courtyard leading to a white drawing room. i WISH my house was this moody.

I think you achieved timelessness in your own kitchen as well. Plus, you did it on a budget, no?

Sometimes I get a bit bothered by how styles in the US get "dated": completely unnecessary if one generally keeps away from trends.

PS: Your blog is giving me no end of pleasure. Thanks so much.

yes, i venture to guess they spent in a day what i spent on my whole project! but budgets make you more crafty. i loved my walnut counter and i would never have done it unless i had to have something pretty on the cheap. and my sliding recycled doors would never have come about unless i had to design a space around what i already had stacked in the barn.

i'm glad you like the blog! i'll try to keep it interesting!
